In hot seasons, most people only use air conditioning indoors, creating a significant temperature difference between indoor and outdoor environments, or between air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms. This makes elderly people, especially those with hypertension or atherosclerosis, difficult to adapt, greatly increasing the risk of stroke due to impaired cerebral blood circulation. Therefore, when using air conditioning, temperature control is essential—indoor and outdoor temperature differences should not exceed 7°C. Elderly people, particularly those with hypertension, should minimize entering and exiting air-conditioned rooms to avoid repeated vasodilation and vasoconstriction of blood vessels, especially in the brain, which could lead to accidents. Additionally, pay attention to balancing work and rest; insufficient sleep and overfatigue can raise blood pressure, potentially triggering stroke.
