Excessive Stress Makes People Dumber
Work-related stress induces psychological tension, a concept long discussed in medical literature. Generally, physical stress creates a "negative pressure" sensation, while psychological stress leads to "tension." Many business owners set extremely high production targets for workers, causing some employees to be overwhelmed. Under such excessive pressure, mental sharpness declines, movements become sluggish, and the more urgent one is to complete tasks, the lower the efficiency becomes.
Psychological experts point out: if individuals remain under prolonged social stress, experience excessive fatigue, and have unbalanced diets, their nervous system's excitation and inhibition functions may become disordered. This primarily manifests as insufficient cerebral blood supply, accelerated brain aging, and other pathological changes. As a result, attention becomes scattered, and learning and memory are impaired. Experts warn: extreme stress can harm the body and even make people less intelligent.
