Self-care for Pregnancy-induced Hypertension
· Pay attention to self-symptoms; if dizziness, blurred vision, vertigo, nausea, vomiting, reduced urine output or frequency of urination, or visual disturbances occur, contact your doctor promptly.
· Maintain balanced nutrition in diet; consume more high-quality proteins, vegetables, fruits, small fish, and dairy products; avoid excessive salt intake, animal fats, grains, spicy foods, and strongly flavored seasonings. Pregnant women with chronic hypertension, chronic nephritis, anemia, or diabetes should pay special attention.
· Control weight to prevent obesity, as obese pregnant women are more prone to pregnancy-induced hypertension. Women who were overweight before pregnancy must follow dietary guidance from a nutritionist and strictly limit caloric intake.
· If feeling fatigued, rest immediately; adequate rest can also alleviate symptoms of pregnancy-induced hypertension.
· Ensure sufficient sleep; during sleep, pregnant women should lie on their left side to prevent compression of blood vessels by the uterus, promote smooth blood flow, and prevent or reduce edema.
· Maintain a cheerful mood and engage in moderate activities such as walking or swimming. Exercise intensity should be based on comfort after activity, enhancing physical strength without performing strenuous or heavy labor.<Pregnancy-induced Hypertension>
