Traditional Chinese Medicine Formula for Endometriosis
Chinese Herbal Prescription (I)
【Formula Name】Formula One for Uterine Endometriosis.
【Composition】Bupleurum 10 grams, trichosanthes root 15 grams, angelica 9 grams, processed pangolin scale 15 grams, peach kernel (crushed) 15 grams, safflower 6 grams, rhubarb (wine-washed, added last) 9 grams, licorice 3 grams, cyperus 15 grams, amber powder (mixed in) 1.5 grams, brown sugar (added as needed) as appropriate.
【Usage】Add one egg, decoct together with herbs, boil three bowls of water down to one bowl (egg shell removed), then add brown sugar, take on an empty stomach.
【Treatment Principle】Activating blood circulation, removing stasis, regulating qi, nourishing yin, relieving pain.
【Indications】Endometriosis or uterine fibroid-related pain.
【Additions/Modifications】For severe menstrual pain with blood clots, add costus root 15 grams, nine fragrant bug 12 grams to regulate qi and resolve stasis; for large masses, add hawthorn, rhizoma sparganium each 12 grams, salvia 15 grams to break up stasis and eliminate masses; for high fever with red, thick menstruation, add honeysuckle vine, increase rhubarb dosage, or add coptis 12 grams; for low-grade fever, add moutan bark, hairy willow herb each 15 grams to clear heat and cool blood; for excessive menstruation and prolonged periods, add astragalus 15 grams to tonify qi and arrest bleeding, combined with angelica to nourish blood without stagnation; for dry mouth, irritability, scanty tongue coating, add prince’s ginseng, coix seed, ophiopogon each 15 grams to nourish yin and generate body fluids; if no urgent need to defecate and bowel movements normal, remove rhubarb.

【Composition】Poria cocos 12 grams, cinnamon twig 4.5 grams, peach kernel 10 grams, red peony root 10 grams, moutan bark 10 grams, soapberry spine 20 grams, arrowhead fern 20 grams, stonebreaker 15 grams.
【Usage】Decoct in water, warm, divide and take in portions. ?【Treatment Principle】Activating blood circulation, resolving stasis, reducing fever.
【Indications】Fever before menstruation due to endometriosis.
