Wash, cut into small pieces, mix with adequate cold boiled water, extract juice by pressing, consume one cup each time, once or twice daily. Carrots are particularly rich in beta-carotene, containing 4.05 mg per 100 grams. Beta-carotene converts to vitamin A in the liver, with 1 microgram of beta-carotene equivalent to 1/6 (0.167) micrograms of vitamin A, thus known as provitamin A. Its physiological function resembles that of vitamin A, maintaining epithelial tissue health and enhancing resistance to disease. Clinical studies show that incidence of many epithelial cell cancers correlates negatively with vitamin A intake. Animal experiments indicate that deficiency of vitamin A or beta-carotene increases susceptibility to chemical carcinogens; adequate vitamin A can inhibit carcinogenic effects, suppress tumor cell growth and differentiation, delay or halt cancer progression, or reverse precancerous lesions. Recent reports suggest beta-carotene has superior anticancer effects compared to vitamin A, without risk of vitamin A toxicity. Carrots have a sweet, neutral taste, benefiting spleen and stomach, promoting digestion, and suitable for those with indigestion. [Formula Twelve] Garlic 200 grams, rice vinegar 500 milliliters, sugar as needed. Peel garlic cloves, wash and dry, place in rice vinegar with sugar, soak for one month, then consume. Take several cloves each time, eat with meals; regular consumption yields better results. Originally indicated for heart and abdominal cold pain, recently used for cancer prevention and treatment. Garlic is the bulb of Allium sativum, containing protein, fat, phosphorus, iron, calcium, and various vitamins. [Formula Thirteen] Sweet apricot kernel 10 kernels, milk 100 milliliters, jujube 5 pieces, glutinous rice 50 grams, mulberry bark 10 grams, ginger 3 grams. Soak apricot kernels, remove skins and tips, crush and extract juice with milk. Remove jujube cores, slice ginger.
