Cervical cancer often shows no symptoms in early stages; detected during screening. Typical symptoms include: first, increased vaginal discharge appearing watery, gruel-like, purulent bloody with odor; second, irregular vaginal bleeding starting mildly, contact bleeding or bleeding after defecation, followed by persistent or even massive bleeding; third, pain—lumbosacral pain, swelling and pain in lower limbs; fourth, frequent urination, urgency, hematuria, rectal prolapse, hematochezia, and difficulty defecating; fifth, weight loss and anemia. Commonly used folk remedies and effective prescriptions are as follows.
[Formula One] Phellodendron 10 grams, moutan bark 20 grams, poria 10 grams, white peony root, plantain seed (wrapped) each 20 grams, gardenia 9 grams, polygonum 10 grams, herba paeoniae rubra 10 grams, gentian root 9 grams, herbaceous dragon root 30 grams, poria cocos 30 grams, angelica 10 grams, curcuma 15 grams. Take one dose daily, decoct and drink. This formula comes from "Tumor Diseases," with functions of clearing heat, drying dampness, cooling blood, dispersing nodules, suitable for patients with cervical cancer due to damp-heat toxin accumulation. [Formula Two] Fresh stonebreaker, fresh June snow, fresh grave head each 30 grams, fresh cyperus 15 grams. Decoct and take one dose daily, decoct twice and divide. This formula comes from "National Compilation of Chinese Medicinal Plants," with functions of anti-cancer and detoxification, suitable for cervical cancer. [Formula Three] Chebulic myrobalan, moonstone each 15 grams, plum 6 grams, coptis 6 grams, musk 0.12 grams, white flowered snake tongue grass, half-branch lotus each 60 grams, poria cocos, corydalis, coix seed, yam each 30 grams, purple root, honeysuckle, salvia each 15 grams, angelica 12 grams, green tangerine peel 9 grams. ① Mix all herbs into fine powder, sieve, finally add musk, prepare as external powder. ② Decoct with water to make decoction. Powder for external use: clean vagina and cervix first, sprinkle powder directly onto cancer site, change every other day. ③ Decoction orally, one dose daily, decoct twice and divide. This formula comes from the Affiliated Hospital of Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with functions of regulating qi, activating blood, anti-cancer, detoxifying, suitable for cervical cancer. [Formula Four] Cuttlefish bone, mouse powder each 24 grams, elephant skin 15 grams, borneol 3 grams, musk as needed. Grind all herbs into fine powder, mix evenly, apply to cervical erosion site, rinse and change every other day. This formula comes from "Clinical Experience in Cancer Treatment," with functions of promoting granulation, effective in late-stage cervical disease. [Formula Five] Carp powder 30 grams, raw pangolin scale 10 grams, borneol, mirabilite each 3 grams, cinnabar 6 grams. Grind all herbs into fine powder, mix evenly, apply externally to cervical erosion, rinse and change every other day. This formula comes from "Clinical Experience in Cancer Treatment," with functions of removing decayed tissue and promoting new tissue formation, suitable for mid-stage cervical cancer. [Formula Six] Vinegar-processed curcuma, vinegar-processed rhizoma sparganium each 10 grams. Concentrate to 200 milliliters, divide into two doses. This formula breaks up blood stasis and resolves accumulations, effective for cervical cancer. [Formula Seven] Fritillary bulb 15 grams, healthy male rabbit 1. Decoct and take one dose daily. This formula comes from "Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine" 1983.3 issue, with functions of clearing heat, diuresis, dispersing nodules, anti-cancer, suitable for recurrence after uterine body cancer surgery. [Formula Nine] Prince's ginseng 30 grams, white atractylodes 10 grams, yam, burnt yam root, burnt palmyra palm fiber, madder root, cypress charcoal each 15 grams, salvia 12 grams, half-branch lotus, calamine each 30 grams, licorice 6 grams.
