🌿 Folk Prescriptions

(1) Yin deficiency with hyperactivity of fire, scorching body fluids so they do not liquefy: After marriage, infertility due to thick, non-liquefying semen, easy erection, increased libido, accompanied by nocturnal emission, lumbar soreness, knee weakness, dizziness, tinnitus, dry mouth and throat, five-palms heat, red tongue with little coating, fine rapid pulse. Treatment should nourish yin, reduce fire, and clear heat; use Liquidation Decoction (anemarrhena rhizome, phellodendron bark, raw rehmannia root, moutan bark, red peony root, salvia root, cooked rehmannia root, goji berries, dodder seed, polygonatum rhizome, cornus fruit, alisma rhizome).
(2) Damp-heat descending, scorching body fluids so they do not liquefy: After marriage, infertility due to thick, non-liquefying semen, accompanied by discomfort in perineal area, yellow and turbid urine, burning sensation during urination, dampness in scrotum, red tongue with greasy yellow coating. Treatment should clear heat, remove dampness, nourish yin, and reduce fire; use Long Dan Xie Gan Tang with modifications (gentiana root, gardenia fruit, poria cocos, plantain seed, alisma rhizome, dianthus root, poria cocos (dried), angelica root, coix seed, salvia root, red peony root, calamus, chicken blood vine, unblocking herb); if constipation, add rhubarb. Concurrently, take Zhī Bó Dì Huáng Wán.
(3) Kidney deficiency with blood stasis, semen not liquefying: Dizziness, heaviness in body, skin pigmentation, insomnia with many dreams, hair loss, low-grade fever, night sweats, dark red tongue with ecchymotic points on edges, dilated sublingual veins, deep wiry and涩pulse. Treatment should nourish yin and tonify the kidney, combined with activating blood and resolving stasis; use Liu Wei Di Huang Wan with additions (cooked rehmannia root, cornus fruit, goji berries, ginseng, dodder seed, polygonatum rhizome, eucommia bark, unblocking herb, red peony root, chicken blood vine, lu-lu-tong).
(4) Yang deficiency with cold coagulation, semen not liquefying: Cold sensation in lower abdomen, cold testicles, cold feeling after ejaculation, pale tongue with thin coating, deep pulse. Treatment should warm meridians, dispel cold, and assist in transforming essence; use Jin Yi Shen Qi Wan with modifications (cooked rehmannia root, cornus fruit, cinnamon twig, processed aconite root, evodia fruit, angelica root, polygonatum rhizome, epimedium herb, unblocking herb, chicken blood vine, red peony root, salvia root, goji berries).
