Chinese Herbal Formula for Ulcerative Colitis
Chinese Herbal Prescription (I)
[Syndrome Differentiation] Heat-toxin combined with dampness.
[Treatment Principle] Detoxification, clearing heat, removing dampness.
[Formula Name] Detoxifying and Heat-Clearing Decoction.
[Composition] 30 grams of金钱草 (Jin Qian Cao), 10 grams of柴胡 (Chai Hu), 15 grams of黄芩 (Huang Qin), 15 grams of葛根 (Ge Gen), 20 grams of白头翁 (Bai Tou Weng), 25 grams of金银花 (Jin Yin Hua), 10 grams of秦皮 (Qin Pi), 15 grams of黄柏 (Huang Bai), 6 grams of黄连 (Huang Lian), 6 grams of甘草 (Gan Cao).
[Usage] Boil in water, take one dose daily, twice daily, or frequently (or half an hour after meals). Can also be used for retention enema at 30–50 ml.
