Internal and External Application for Parotitis
Internal Formula: Chai Hu 10g, Lian Qiao 12g, Yin Hua 15g, Da Qing Ye and Ban Lan Gen each 30g, Pu Gong Ying, Xia Ku Cao, Kun Bu, Hai Zao each 20g. Add Long Dan Cao, Li Zhi He, and Chuan Lian Zi each 10g if testicular swelling and pain occur. Mild cases: one dose every two days; severe cases: one dose daily. Decoct and take until recovery. External Application Formula: Two tubes of Bing Peng San, mix with cold boiled water into a paste, apply to affected area, fix with gauze, change every two days. Alternatively, 40g of Da Huang ground into fine powder, mix with sufficient vinegar, apply to affected area, three times daily. Note: Reduce pediatric dosage to half of adult dose. <Parotitis>
