250 grams beef, 20 grams lotus seeds, 20 grams yam, 20 grams Poria, 20 grams jujubes, 30 grams fennel seeds, and a pinch of salt. Wash the beef, cut into chunks, place together with lotus seeds in a pot with adequate water. Bring to a boil, then when half-cooked, add Poria and salt. Simmer slowly until the beef is tender and falls apart.
