100 grams of fresh black mulberries, 50 grams of fresh lily bulbs. Wash both ingredients clean, then decoct in water. Take once daily.
Black mulberries are sweet and sour, with a slightly cold nature. They are sweet and cold, capable of nourishing yin, replenishing blood, and clearing heat, commonly used as a tonic for the liver and kidneys. Regular consumption significantly improves symptoms of “heart-kidney weakness leading to insomnia.” Lily bulbs provide tonification combined with moistening. In cases of liver and kidney yin deficiency with internal heat, which disturbs the heart spirit, resulting in insomnia and restlessness, black mulberries nourish yin and clear heat, while lily bulbs calm the heart and spirit. Once yin is restored and heat subsides, the spirit becomes calm and peaceful, allowing for sound sleep.
This formula also has the function of moistening the intestines and promoting bowel movements, and can be used for habitual constipation.
Contraindicated in cases of spleen-stomach deficiency-cold with diarrhea.
