Wheat Porridge
Recipe composition: 30–60 grams of wheat, 2 liang (about 100 grams) of glutinous rice, and 5 jujubes.
Therapeutic effects: Nourishes heart spirit, stops spontaneous sweating, and strengthens spleen and stomach. Suitable for heart qi deficiency, nervous palpitations, restlessness, insomnia, female emotional disturbance (zang zao), spontaneous sweating, night sweats, and spleen deficiency diarrhea.
Cooking method: Wash wheat, add water and boil until soft, then strain out wheat and collect juice. Add glutinous rice and jujubes to cook porridge. Alternatively, crush wheat, then cook with jujubes and rice to make porridge.
Precautions: In clinical practice, there are two types of wheat—Huai wheat and floating wheat—choose according to condition. Use for 3–5 days as a course, take warm twice or thrice daily.
