Rhizoma Curcumae Wenyujin
This product is the dried rhizome of *Curcuma wenyujin* Y.H. Chen et C.Ling, a plant from the Zingiberaceae family. Harvested after the stems and leaves wither in winter, washed, roots removed, sliced longitudinally while fresh, then sun-dried.
【Appearance】The rhizome appears as long oval or irregularly shaped slices, varying in size, measuring 3–6 cm in length, 1–3 cm in width, and 0.1–0.4 cm in thickness. Outer surface gray-yellow, rough and wrinkled, sometimes showing nodes and root traces. Cross-section ranges from pale yellow to brownish-yellow, with a distinct ring pattern and numerous small vascular dots. Brittle yet firm texture. Fracture surface gray-white to brownish-yellow, slightly powdery. Unique aromatic smell, slightly bitter and pungent-cool taste.
【Taste and Nature】Pungent, bitter, warm. Enters liver and spleen meridians.
【Functions and Indications】Breaks blood stasis, moves qi, unblocks meridians, relieves pain. Used for blood stagnation causing amenorrhea, menstrual pain, stabbing pain in chest and hypochondrium, rheumatic arthralgia, shoulder-arm pain, and injuries from falls or blows.
【Dosage and Administration】3–9g.

【Storage】Store in a cool, dry place, protect from insects.
