Strengthening Stomach Porridge 3
Porridge composition: Tangerine peel 15–20 grams, glutinous rice 1–2 taels.
Benefits and indications: Regulates Qi, strengthens stomach, resolves phlegm, relieves cough. Suitable for spleen-stomach Qi stagnation, abdominal distension, indigestion, poor appetite, nausea, vomiting, cough with abundant phlegm, chest tightness.
Cooking method: First decoct tangerine peel to extract juice, remove residue, then add glutinous rice to cook porridge. Alternatively, dry tangerine peel, grind into fine powder, use 3–5 grams per serving mixed into boiling thin porridge, then re-cook into porridge.
Precautions: Suitable for cough with excessive phlegm; not recommended for dry cough due to Yin deficiency or patients with no phlegm; avoid in hemoptysis cases. Generally, one course lasts 2–3 days.
