This formula has the effect of nourishing blood and regulating menstruation. Suitable for blood deficiency leading to amenorrhea.
This formula originates from "Lu Chuan Ben Cao," originally used for "women's amenorrhea." It is a representative formula for treating amenorrhea due to blood deficiency. Blood deficiency fails to nourish Chong and Ren meridians, resulting in empty blood sea, hence amenorrhea. The main ingredient is cuttlefish meat—blood and flesh with emotional qualities—greatly capable of nourishing blood and regulating menstruation. Peach kernels serve as auxiliary, promoting blood circulation and regulating menstruation. Combined, they both nourish blood and activate blood, but primarily nourish blood, thus suitable for amenorrhea due to blood deficiency with blood stasis or pure blood deficiency.
"Tang Yao Experience Formula" modifies this formula by removing cuttlefish and adding lotus root for stewing, enhancing blood-activating and menstruation-regulating effects. Originally used for "postpartum blood stagnation."
Pregnant women should avoid this formula.
