Beauty-Enhancing and Skin-Firming Formula with Rock Sugar and Lily Bulb

[Composition] Fresh lily bulb 30–50 grams, glutinous rice 50 grams, rock sugar as needed. [Preparation and Usage] First cook the rice into porridge using the usual method; just before it is done, add the lily bulb and cook until fully tender. Add rock sugar and stir well when serving. Consume in the morning as breakfast (if fresh lily bulb is unavailable, use dried lily powder instead).
[Efficacy and Application] Tonifies lung and spleen, calms breath and stops cough. Suitable for those suffering from cough and shortness of breath due to lung yin deficiency and spleen qi weakness, accompanied by fatigue, scant phlegm, poor appetite, occasional feverish irritability, and thin physique. This porridge may be used as a supplementary food.
Note: Lily bulb is sweet and mild, primarily moistening the lungs and stopping cough, while also benefiting qi, harmonizing the middle energizer, clearing heat, and calming the spirit. Besides being a primary herb for treating yin-deficient cough, it can also address restlessness and agitation caused by mental instability. Ancient formulas often used lily bulb as the main ingredient to treat "Lily Disease." Nowadays, many snack shops sell "Lily Soup," which is made by combining lily bulb with rock sugar and other ingredients—this sweet dish has anti-aging effects on the skin.<Beauty Enhancement>
