Lily and Loquat Soup for Whitening Skin
[Composition] Lily bulb (prefer fresh) 30 grams, loquat 30 grams (pit removed), fresh lotus root 30 grams (washed and sliced), starch as needed, a little sugar. [Preparation and Usage] Simmer lily bulb, loquat flesh, and lotus root together. When nearly done, add starch to thicken into a soup. Add a little sugar when serving; optionally add a bit of osmanthus. Can be consumed at any time.
[Efficacy and Application] Moisturizes skin and makes it fair and radiant.
Nourishes yin, moistens lungs, clears heat, and stops cough. Suitable for cases of dry heat injuring the lungs, lung yin deficiency, internal heat disturbing the chest, leading to persistent dry cough, even hemoptysis, flushed cheeks and lips, dry tongue coating, and fine, weak pulse.
Note: Lily bulb is sweet and mild, an excellent tonic for lung yin; loquat clears lung heat and stops cough; fresh lotus root cools blood and clears heat. Therefore, anyone suffering from cough due to lung dryness and fluid injury may benefit from this soup. However, avoid in cases with damp-heat and excessive phlegm.<Whitening>
