White Fresh Bark

This product is the dried root bark of Dictamnus dasycarpus Turcz., a species from the rue family. Harvested in spring or autumn, dig up the roots, remove soil and coarse bark, peel off the root bark, then dry.
【Appearance】Cylindrical in shape, 5–15cm long, 1–2cm in diameter, 0.2–0.5cm thick. Outer surface is gray-white or pale gray-yellow, with fine longitudinal wrinkles and small root scars, often bearing raised granular spots; inner surface is whitish, with fine longitudinal lines. Brittle, breaks with dust flying; fracture uneven, slightly layered, peeling off outer layer reveals sparkling small points under light. Strong goat-like odor, slightly bitter taste.
【Taste & Meridian Affinity】Bitter, cold. Enters spleen, stomach, and bladder meridians.
【Function & Indications】Clears heat and dries dampness, dispels wind and detoxifies. Used for damp-heat sores, yellow discharge, eczema, wind rash, scabies, psoriasis, rheumatic heat arthralgia, jaundice, red urine.
【Dosage & Administration】4.5–9g; externally, use appropriate amount by boiling into decoction for washing or grinding into powder for application.
【Storage】Store in a well-ventilated, dry place.
