Fig Porridge
[Ingredients] 30 grams fresh figs, 50 grams rice, appropriate amount of rock sugar.
[Preparation] Wash rice and cook into porridge by normal method. Add peeled figs when porridge nearly ready, cook briefly, then add rock sugar.
[Usage] Eat as meal accompaniment, continue for 20 days.
[Action] Moistens lungs, detoxifies. Used for prevention and treatment of early-stage lung cancer, sore throat, cough, diarrhea, dysentery, hemorrhoids, etc.
[Comment] Figs are sweet and sour, neutral, non-toxic. They strengthen spleen, moisten lungs, detoxify and clear throat. Fresh figs contain 28% fructose and glucose, vitamin A precursor, vitamin C, protein, amino acids; mature fruits rich in amylase, lipase, protease, acetic acid, citric acid—aid digestion, promote blood oxidation, enhance cellular metabolism. Recently recognized as a common anti-cancer herb treating various malignant tumors. Figs have diverse uses: eaten fresh, dried, canned, made into jam or candied fruit. Can also be used as vegetables—stewed with meat or in soups, delicious with fruity aroma. A premium ingredient in medicinal cuisine.
