Astragalus Chicken Broth Porridge
[Ingredients] One hen (about 1000–1500 grams), astragalus 15 grams, glutinous rice 100 grams.
[Preparation] Remove feathers and internal organs from hen, clean thoroughly, concentrate into chicken broth; extract astragalus juice twice by boiling, mix with chicken broth and glutinous rice, then cook into porridge.
[Usage] Warm and consume twice daily, morning and evening.
[Action] Tonifying qi and blood, enriching essence and marrow, boosting qi, raising yang, consolidating exterior and stopping spontaneous sweating. Suitable for chronic illness with physical weakness, dual deficiency of qi and blood, anemia, fatigue, and spontaneous sweating.
[Commentary] The combination of astragalus and chicken strengthens the spleen and stomach, tonifies qi and blood, making it an excellent remedy for deficiency and spontaneous sweating. Avoid use during colds or fever with unresolved external pathogens.
