On the Dietary Therapy of "Impotence"

🔑 Keywords: Pharmacological Diet
With the continuous improvement of living standards, people are increasingly pursuing perfection in life. The term erectile dysfunction ("ED", commonly known as impotence), once difficult to mention, now frequently appears in newspapers and magazines.
For ED, patients need not be overly anxious, as it does not affect normal work or study. However, it should not be ignored either, as it can impact family life and even the continuation of offspring. There are numerous treatments for ED, including traditional hormone therapy, various Chinese herbal prescriptions, fashionable medications like Viagra, high-tech implantation procedures, and more—too many to list. Yet, each of these methods has certain drawbacks; for example, long-term use of Viagra may harm the body, which many Chinese people find unacceptable. Research indicates that most cases of ED are functional disorders, and with proper adjustment, they can generally be cured. The guiding principles for regulation can be summarized in fifteen characters: relieve emotions, adjust diet, maintain regular routines, avoid excessive demands, and preserve vital essence.
Below are several recommended pharmacological diets focusing on dietary adjustment. Currently, it is autumn and winter, a suitable time for tonification. Patients may wish to try them:
1. Cistanche and Lamb Kidney Soup: 10 grams of Cistanche, 1 pair of lamb kidneys, boiled together with water until cooked, then seasoned and consumed.
2. Ginger and Prepared Aconite Boiled Dog Meat: 30 grams of processed aconite slice, 150 grams of ginger, 1000 grams of dog meat. Cut dog meat into small pieces, mix with ginger. First, decoct processed aconite for 2 hours, then add dog meat, ginger, garlic, green onions, etc., and cook until tender. Season and consume.
3. Ox Kidney Porridge: 1 ox kidney, washed and diced, 150 grams of Yangqishi, 100 grams of glutinous rice. First, wrap Yangqishi in gauze, boil with five bowls of water until reduced to two bowls, discard the gauze bag, then add ox kidney and glutinous rice to cook into porridge. Add salt, ginger, green onion whites, and consume.
Pharmacological diet therapy requires sustained effort and gradual results. Regular consumption is necessary to achieve optimal effects.
