Nine-Ingredient Decoction for Palpitations
Although palpitations may result from external pathogens, fright, internal emotional disturbances, or deficiency of zang-fu organs' qi, blood, yin, and yang, they generally fall into two categories: deficiency and excess. Deficiency refers to insufficiency of heart qi, blood, yin, or yang; excess stems from phlegm-dampness or blood stasis. However, this condition often involves both deficiency and excess, mutually influencing each other. Based on the above etiological analysis, the Nine-Ingredient Decoction demonstrates remarkable efficacy in treating palpitations. Formula: 10g each of Poria, Atractylodes, Angelica, Red Peony, Codonopsis, 6g each of Cinnamon twig, Polygala tuber, 5g Ligusticum, 3g Licorice. Decoct and take one dose daily.<Palpitations>
