The Harder You Work, the More Likely You Are to Gain Weight

🔑 Keywords: Health Food Therapy
According to a survey conducted by a U.S. career website targeting office workers, working in the workplace often leads to obesity—especially those who work harder tend to gain weight more easily.
As reported by Sing Tao Daily, a survey by Careerbuilder.com, a U.S. career website, involving 1,600 office workers found that as high as 47% of respondents had gained weight in their current jobs.
The survey revealed that the busier one works, the more likely they are to gain weight, mainly due to lack of time for exercise, and 73% of workplaces do not have fitness facilities. Relying on emails and digital communication instead of walking to colleagues' offices to discuss matters contributes to weight gain. Moreover, frequently eating lunch outside is another major cause.
Experts suggest employees use their lunch breaks to go to the gym, eat a healthy homemade meal, or take a short walk afterward—all beneficial for health and effective in controlling weight.
The survey also found that when under stress, employees often turn to snacks, but snacks are the biggest culprit in weight gain.
Experts recommend placing a bottle of water on your desk during work hours and drinking it regularly instead of snacking—a good method for weight control.
