Pharmacological Diet: Keep You Smart, Not “Topless”
Hair growth, shedding, luster, and dryness are all related to diet. Since food is the primary source of nutrition and energy for the body, balanced nutrition is fundamental for hair regrowth and beauty. Pay special attention to your daily diet: consume sufficient protein-rich foods such as milk, eggs, lean meat, and fish, as proteins are essential for hair growth; eat vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins, such as spinach, celery, apples, loquats, as vitamins promote hair growth and give hair a natural sheen; consume zinc-rich foods like animal liver and dried fruits, as zinc improves hair tissue, enhancing elasticity and luster.
While ensuring adequate intake of these nutrients, selecting specific pharmacological dietary therapies can yield double the results. Traditional Chinese medicine believes hair growth relates to the abundance or deficiency of blood and qi, as well as the state of nerves. Using herbs that nourish blood, warm the kidneys, and nourish yin, combined with food to create medicinal diets, can promote hair growth and prevent hair loss.
He Shou Wu Boiled Eggs
60g He Shou Wu, 2 eggs. Boil together. When eggs are cooked, remove shells and re-boil for about 5 minutes. Eat eggs and drink soup. Suitable for premature graying and excessive hair loss due to blood deficiency and weak constitution, especially effective for those who “cannot tolerate tonics.”
Sheep Bone Porridge
1–2 sheep tibia bones, crushed; 10 jujubes, 10 longans, 100–150g glutinous rice. Add water, cook into porridge. Consume from winter solstice to beginning of spring each year. This porridge warms the kidneys and nourishes blood, ideal for hair loss accompanied by kidney deficiency and backache, or mild anemia.
Black Bean Hair Growth Soup
30g sesame seeds, 30g black beans, 12g goji berries, 20g sugar. Boil for about half an hour, consume both soup and residue. One serving daily for 60 consecutive days. Nourishes and promotes hair growth—especially effective for those with insomnia and vivid dreams.
Beauty and Blood Nourishing Preserved Fruits
50g dried longan flesh, 30g small jujubes, 30g mulberry fruit, 30g goji berries, appropriate honey. Add water, simmer gently for 30 minutes, add honey, cook until syrupy. Consume about 10g daily. This formula nourishes blood and promotes hair growth—particularly suitable for those with pale complexion and blood deficiency.
He Shou Wu Liver Slices
60g He Shou Wu, 15g goji berries, 200g fresh pork liver, 200g cucumber, oil, salt, MSG as needed. Crush He Shou Wu into powder, add 300g water, simmer to about 100g concentrated broth. Soak pork liver slices in broth for 2–4 hours. Cut cucumber into slices. Heat oil to medium temperature, fry liver slices briefly, add chopped scallions and ginger, stir-fry until fragrant, then add cucumber slices, salt, MSG, a little concentrated He Shou Wu broth, liver slices, and rehydrated goji berries. Stir-fry quickly for 3–5 minutes. This dish nourishes the liver, dispels wind, enriches essence, and strengthens the kidneys. Effective for dry, prematurely gray, or falling hair—consume 2–3 times weekly.
Peanut Skin and Jujube Soup
100g peanuts soaked in warm water, remove skins, combine with 10 jujubes in a pot. Use the soaking water, simmer gently for about half an hour, add appropriate red sugar. Drink soup three times daily, eat jujubes. This formula nourishes blood and replenishes blood, suitable for hair regrowth and darkening in physically weak individuals.
