Reducing Postoperative Complications with Integrated Chinese-Western Medicine
The National Symposium on Integrated Chinese-Western Medicine Research in Perioperative Care convened today (the 29th) at the Second Island Branch of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine—the first time in China’s TCM field that a conference has been explicitly focused on the "perioperative period."
The perioperative period refers to the time before, during, and after surgery. Clinical observations show that although integrated Chinese-Western medicine care cannot increase surgical success rates, it can significantly reduce postoperative complications.
Academics Chen Keji and Wu Xianzhong attending the meeting both expressed that integrated Chinese-Western medicine treatment during the perioperative period is worth promoting.
