Apply Plastic Wrap Layer for Fresh, Moist Lips
With autumn approaching, dry lips become increasingly problematic. Dr. Hayano from the Double Leaf Beauty Clinic in Japan explains that modern women’s lips are becoming drier due to air pollution and lipsticks. Many carry lip balm everywhere, but most balms only provide temporary relief and create dependency.
Dr. Hayano shares a simple home remedy surpassing constant lip balm use. Procedure: Apply a simple lip balm (preferably fragrance-free) to lips, then cover with kitchen plastic wrap—similar to a facial mask. Leave on for about 15 minutes. Repeat this routine for roughly two weeks, and natural moisture retention in lips will return.
However, Dr. Hayano warns: since mouth breathing is impossible, this method shouldn’t be used during colds. Also, avoid licking dry lips—this accelerates surface moisture evaporation, making lips drier and prone to cracking.
