Two Apples a Day Help Prevent Vascular Hardening
Research from the National Institute of Fruit Science in Tsukuba, Japan, shows that eating about 400 grams of apples daily can indeed reduce blood triglyceride levels.
The research team had 14 volunteers aged 30 to 57 eat two apples daily for three weeks. Blood tests revealed an average 21% reduction in triglycerides.
The study results indicate that eating apples increases blood vitamin C levels by about 34%, and the number of beneficial gut bacteria in participants also increased.
