Half a Clove of Garlic Daily Prevents Colorectal Cancer
New Zealand's Ruakura Agricultural Research Centre scientists investigated garlic’s anticancer mechanisms and dosage using experimental mice. They confirmed that garlic’s anticancer effect comes from diallyl disulfide, a compound that produces enzymes to clear carcinogens, thus protecting the intestines from cancer. Regarding dosage, half a clove of garlic provides sufficient diallyl disulfide for cancer prevention. Therefore, eating half a raw garlic clove daily may achieve desired protective effects.
