Upon waking, use the tip of the tongue to lick the upper palate. When saliva fills the mouth beneath the tongue and gums, swallow it repeatedly. During inhalation, contract the anus tightly—ideally, simultaneously contracting the pelvic floor muscles; during exhalation, relax and expand the anus and pelvic muscles. Repeat this 40 times.
Swallowing saliva nourishes yin and reduces fire, generates fluids and boosts qi. Contracting the pelvic floor stimulates kidney function and consolidates essence, maintaining healthy sexual function without decline.
Strengthening Teeth and Nourishing Essence
Upon waking, bite the upper and lower teeth together and gently tap them hundreds of times. Holding the jaw clenched over time strengthens the kidneys, fortifies the waist, and strengthens teeth while nourishing essence.
Nourishing the Kidneys and Enhancing Yang
First, cup the scrotum with the left hand and place the right hand on the lower abdomen. Massage clockwise 36 times. Then switch: cup the scrotum with the right hand, place the left hand on the lower abdomen, and massage counterclockwise 36 times. Alternate sides and repeat several times.
Calming the Spirit and Nourishing Essence
Grasp the toes of the left foot with the left hand, and rub the sole of the left foot with the right palm, gradually increasing speed until the foot becomes warm. Perform 100 repetitions per foot, alternating left and right. After several days of consistent practice, this helps connect heart and kidney, guide fire back to its source, calm the spirit, and nourish essence.
Warming the Kidneys and Controlling Essence
Stand upright. Clench both hands into fists, place the thumb pads on either side of the waist, and rub the waist from bottom to top 40–100 times. Rubbing should not be too fast and must be moderate in force—too hard may injure the skin, too light won’t generate warmth. Continue until the area feels pleasantly warm.
