Horizontal Movement Promotes Longevity
Scientists believe that hypertension, coronary heart disease, arthritis, hemorrhoids, and other conditions are linked to excessive vertical movement. Therefore, horizontal movement must be adopted to counteract the negative effects of vertical movement.
Horizontal movement mimics animal locomotion, maintaining balanced gravitational force and blood distribution throughout the body, reducing heart burden, and aiming for health and longevity. Numerous horizontal movement methods exist—swimming is unmatched among all exercises as a true horizontal movement. Crawling is also an excellent option: crawl on all fours for 20–30 minutes per session. Additionally, after working 2–3 hours, lie flat for 5–10 minutes. These positional changes greatly benefit circulation and relieve stress on organs in vertical positions. (Guo Zemin)
