Rougui Wine (Wind-Cold Common Cold)
[Formula] Cinnamon 10 grams, baijiu in appropriate amount (about 30–50 milliliters).
[Preparation] Grind cinnamon into fine powder, mix with warm wine for oral use, or soak the powder in baijiu for two nights before drinking.
[Function] Warming the center, tonifying yang, dispelling cold, relieving pain.
[Indication] Wind-cold common cold or yang deficiency with exterior invasion.
[Usage] Oral administration. One dose daily, taken once or divided into two warm doses.
[Note] Quoted from *Fei’s Three Dietary Nourishments*. Also, *Dietary Therapy and Health Preservation Formula* describes Gui Xin Wine: 30 grams of ground cinnamon heart, mixed with 60 milliliters of baijiu, warmed and taken in two doses, treating old people’s cold qi heart pain and chest oppression. Additionally, this formula boiled with baijiu treats postpartum abdominal pain and sudden acute abdominal or heart pain. When mixed into a paste and applied externally on top of head and forehead, it effectively treats deficiency of life gate fire, cold limbs, weak pulse, collapse due to yang deficiency, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and cold pain in waist and knees.
