Gastric and Abdominal Pain Wine
Rose Dew Wine
[Drug Composition] 350g fresh rose flowers, 15L white wine, 2g rock sugar
[Function and Indications] Soothes liver, nourishes stomach, harmonizes blood and activates circulation. Treats gastric distension or stabbing pain due to liver-stomach disharmony, radiating pain to both sides, frequent belching, poor appetite.
[Dosage and Administration] Drink one or two cups each time.
[Preparation Method] Soak flowers in wine, add rock sugar simultaneously. Store in porcelain or glass jar for over a month.

Secret Formula White Rose Dew Wine
[Drug Composition] 100g baihualing, 50g rose flowers, a little rose essence, 5g raw sorghum, 500g rock sugar
[Function and Indications] This wine has strong fragrance, soothes liver stagnation, relieves abdominal pain, invigorates spleen and stomach, improves appetite, regulates stagnant qi, broadens the center, and treats various types of wind pain.
[Dosage and Administration] Drink appropriately.
[Preparation Method] Combine all ingredients in a jar, seal for over a month, then bottle.

Prickly Pear Wine
[Drug Composition] 250g fresh walnut, 130g wild loquat root, 1000ml white wine

[Preparation Method] Crush fresh walnuts, chop wild loquat root, mix with white wine, soak for 20 days via cold maceration.

Foshou Wine
[Drug Composition] 30g fo shou, 1000ml white wine
[Function and Indications] Soothes liver, regulates qi, harmonizes spleen, warms stomach.
[Dosage and Administration] Based on personal tolerance, take 3–5g each time.
[Preparation Method] Wash fo shou, soak in water briefly, slice, cut into three equal squares, air-dry slightly, place in jar (bottle), pour in white wine, seal. Shake or stir every five days. Ready after ten days, filter out residue.

Foshou Dew Wine
[Drug Composition] 120g fo shou, 30g acanthopanax bark, 12g wood apple, 6g sandalwood, 15g gardenia, 9g ginger, 9g cardamom, 6g cloves, 18g angelica, 15g tangerine peel, 12g green tangerine peel, 9g cinnamon
[Function and Indications] Liver qi stagnation, spleen-stomach disharmony, fullness in chest and hypochondrium, irritability, nausea, poor appetite, gastric distension and pain.
[Dosage and Administration] Warm and drink two or three small cups each morning and noon. Pregnant women should avoid.
[Preparation Method] Place all herbs in a muslin bag, soak in 10L white wine, gently heat for 30 minutes, filter, dissolve 1.5kg rock sugar, store in porcelain or glass jar.

Note: The formula of Foshou dew wine is slightly warming but contains many volatile oil-rich herbs, giving it a fragrant aroma. Another version in "National Prescriptions for Chinese Patent Medicines" uses 18g fo shou, 9g each of wood apple, green tangerine peel, acanthopanax bark, and zhiqie, soaked in wine. Its function is similar but weaker in aromatic power and less effective in warming and harmonizing the stomach.
Ginger Wine
[Drug Composition] Ginger
[Function and Indications] Treats cold pain in heart and abdomen, sudden illness, and stroke-like conditions.
[Dosage and Administration] Warm and drink one bowl to relieve symptoms.
[Preparation Method] Soak ginger in wine, or mix ginger juice with yeast to brew wine normally.

Ginger Boiled Wine — Formerly called “Ginger Wine”
[Drug Composition] 3 liang fresh ginger (crushed)
[Function and Indications] Acute cramps due to cholera, severe abdominal pain, cold sensation in the abdomen.
[Dosage and Administration] Consume entire dose at once, then apply remaining residue to painful area.
[Preparation Method] Add 1 sheng old wine to the herbs, boil for 2–3 boils.
[Source] Qing Dynasty · "Shoushi Qingbian"
Note: This formula differs in preparation from ginger wine and has slightly different functions and indications, hence included for reference.
Ginger Honey Wine — Formerly called “Ginger Wine”
[Drug Composition] 1 *he* ginger juice, 1 spoon honey, twice the volume of clear wine compared to ginger juice
[Function and Indications] If feeling lack of appetite, consume this wine.
[Dosage and Administration] Warm and drink entirely at once; best results seen after half a month.
[Preparation Method] Mix all three ingredients evenly.

Note: This formula uses ginger juice and honey, which is less potent in dispelling cold and warming the middle than previous ginger wines, but has the added benefit of harmonizing the middle and moistening the intestines.
