Acute Sprain and Contusion Wine
Trauma Wind-Dispelling Wine
[Drug Composition] Lonicera Root 75g, Small Rose Root 7.5g, Mountain Pepper Root 40g
[Function & Indication] Dispels wind, removes dampness, activates blood, relieves pain. Used for acute contusions, rheumatic joint pain, lumbar strain.
[Dosage & Administration] For acute sprains/contusions: oral. First dose 100ml, then 50ml each time, twice daily. Apply externally as well. For rheumatic joint pain and lumbar strain: drink 100ml before bedtime, or 50ml twice daily. One course lasts 20 days; severe cases may take one or two consecutive courses. If dry throat and heat occur, stop medication for several days, then resume.
[Preparation Method] Soak above herbs in Three-Flower Wine (50° baijiu) 0.5L for half a month.

Chrysanthemum Yellow Wine
[Drug Composition] Gardenia 60g, Rhubarb, Frankincense, Myrrh, One-stem Herb 30g each, Camphor Cake 1 piece (~7g), White wine as needed
[Function & Indication] Treats closed soft tissue injuries, contusions, bruises, unknown swellings, intercostal neuralgia.
[Dosage & Administration] Cut dressing pieces according to injury area and pain extent, soak in medicine liquid, squeeze to half-dry, apply directly to affected site, cover with dressing, secure with tape. Change every 24 hours. Mild cases improve after 1–2 applications. Severe cases improve after 2–4 applications. Discontinue if no improvement after four applications.
[Preparation Method] Place herbs in bottle, add white wine (just covering herbs), soak for two weeks, seal tightly.
[Caution] Do not take internally. Use with caution during pregnancy.

Earth Centipede Wine
[Drug Composition] Earth Centipede 7 pieces, White wine 30ml
[Function & Indication] Sudden waist injury, bruising.
[Dosage & Administration] Divide wine into three portions, take orally three times daily.
[Preparation Method] First dry roast earth centipedes, soak in white wine overnight, then filter out residue.
[Caution] Avoid during pregnancy.

Note: Earth centipede is also known as *Pseudococcus*, first recorded in *Shennong Benjing*. It has effects of breaking up accumulations, expelling stasis, relieving injury and pain. Thus, when made into wine, it treats sudden sprains.
Jianqu Wine
[Drug Composition] Jianqu 100g, Yellow wine 200g, White wine 200ml
[Function & Indication] Acute lumbar sprain.
[Dosage & Administration] Once daily, 50ml per dose, or adjust based on personal tolerance.
[Preparation Method] Mix all three ingredients together, soak for two hours.

Note: Jianqu is commonly used for indigestion, rarely for back pain. Li Shizhen’s *Compendium of Materia Medica* records: “For sudden waist pain, calcined and quenched in wine, warm and drink effectively.”
Shenqu Wine
[Drug Composition] Shenqu
[Function & Indication] Treats contusion and waist pain, inability to turn or move.
[Dosage & Administration] Lie down after taking, repeat if effective.
[Preparation Method] Take a large chunk of aged Shenqu, burn red-hot, quench in old wine, discard Shenqu.
[Source] Ming Dynasty, *Puji Fang*
Mountain Dragon Wine
[Drug Composition] Mountain Dragon 600g
[Function & Indication] Relaxes tendons, activates blood, relieves pain. Used for trauma, waist sprain, gas prolapse, wind-cold syndrome.
[Dosage & Administration] Oral. 10ml each time, twice daily.
[Preparation Method] Cut Mountain Dragon into slices, add 50% ethanol 1000ml (or 1000ml white wine), soak for 15 days, filter. Let filtrate stand at room temperature for 48 hours, filter again. Collect filtrate and fill bottles, 100ml or 200ml per bottle.
