[Supplement] According to Volume 25 of "Bencao Gangmu": [Innovation] (Song said) Li Jiang's "Bingbu Shouji" contains a tiger bone wine for treating arm and leg pain. Cui Yuanliang's "Hai Shang Fang" uses tiger leg bone wine for treating inability to move waist and legs. For arm and leg pain, tiger bone wine is effective regardless of severity. Use two taels (approx. 75g) of tiger leg bone (crushed and roasted until yellow), one tael (approx. 37.5g) of saiga horn (powdered), and two taels (approx. 75g) of fresh peony root (cut), soak these three ingredients in ash-free wine for seven days, extend to ten days in autumn and winter. Drink one cup on an empty stomach daily. For faster effect, place in silver utensil and warm over fire for two to three days. (Bingbu Shouji) For waist and leg immobility, cramping, cold pain, take a piece of tiger leg bone about five to six inches long, scrape off flesh and membrane, coat with butter, roast until golden, crush finely, place in a silk bag, soak in one dou (approx. 10L) of wine in a bottle, warm gently with husk fire, after seven days drink freely—expect slight laxative effect. Another method: Use one whole tiger spine and one full set of front legs, crush thoroughly on stone with an axe, place on iron bed, roast slowly over charcoal until fat exudes, immediately immerse in concentrated ash-free wine, seal tightly. Soak for seven days in spring and summer, twenty-one days in autumn and winter. Drink three times daily as desired. For conditions lasting over ten years, no more than three doses needed; for those under seven years, one dose will cure. (Cui Yuanliang, Hai Shang Fang)
