Croton Wine
[Composition] Croton seeds 3–5 grains
[Function & Indications] Warm meridians, dispel phlegm, unblock collaterals. Treats facial nerve paralysis.
[Dosage & Administration] Apply externally by fumigating the labor palace point on the palm of the hand affected by facial paralysis, each session lasting 1–2 hours, up to 4 hours for severe cases, once daily; five sessions constitute one course.
[Preparation Method] Grind croton seeds finely, place in aluminum pot or glass bottle, add 75% ethanol (alcohol) or good distilled liquor 500 ml, heat gently for external use.

Comment: 17 patients with facial paralysis were treated; 13 were cured, 4 not improved and switched to other methods.
