Alum Wine (Dull Complexion)
[Formula] Alum (half burned, half calcined) 60 grams, gypsum, talc, rhizoma of dodder, Sichuan pepper, polygala, curare root, pinellia (washed), mirabilite, scrophularia, ephedra, saposhnikovia, platycodon, dried rehmannia, gentiana, nandina leaves, lycopodium, coptis, kadsura, river stone, dodder seed, fried licorice, each 30 grams, white quartz 45 grams, apricot kernels (skin and tip removed) 20 pieces, yeast 1500 grams, glutinous rice 3000 grams.
[Preparation] Coarsely crush the first 24 ingredients, place in cloth bag, set aside. Wash and dry glutinous rice, steam into rice, cool, mix with yeast, place in jar, seal, maintain warmth. After wine matures, extract the herb bag and place it into the wine, seal again, soak for 7–10 days, then filter off residue. Alternatively, place the herb bag in a container, add 5000 milliliters of white wine, seal, soak for 7–10 days, filter off residue to obtain.
[Function] Expels pathogens, moisturizes skin, enhances complexion, maintains youthfulness.
[Indications] Physical weakness, exposure to wind-dampness, sore waist and limbs, dull complexion, etc.
[Usage] Oral. Take 10–15 milliliters each time, twice daily.
