Liver Wind—Yi Yu Coix Wine
Yi Yu Coix Wine—originally named "Yi Yu Wine Soaking Formula"
[Drug Composition] Yi Yu, white nutgrass, coix seed, red peony, cinnamon heart, achyranthes (without buds), sour jujube seed (slightly stir-fried), each one liang, dry ginger (roasted) one liang, aconite (roasted, skin and umbilicus removed) two liang, licorice (slightly roasted until reddish) one liang
[Function and Indications] Treats liver wind, tendon and meridian stiffness, inability to bend or stretch.
[Dosage and Administration] Take one heaping gōng on an empty stomach, gradually increase to one and a half gōng, take once before bed and once in the morning.
[Preparation Method] Cut herbs finely like sesame seeds, pack in a raw silk bag, soak in one dou and five sheng of wine. In spring and summer, soak for five days; in autumn and winter, for seven days. Open and extract.
[Precautions] This formula contains many pungent and hot herbs; contraindicated for those with yin deficiency and fire excess or sores caused by heat toxins.

[Note] When wine is exhausted, dry the residue in sunlight, crush finely, sieve into powder. Take half a qian, gradually increasing to one qian, taken as previously instructed
