Rubbing Acupoints Healed My Rhinitis

🔑 Keywords: Other · Acupuncture and Tuina
I am now 65 years old. Over 20 years ago, I developed acute rhinitis. Due to a busy work schedule involving shift work and household responsibilities, I missed the optimal treatment window, leading to chronic rhinitis. This condition caused me constant nasal discharge and sneezing, making me extremely uncomfortable and affecting my work performance.
About 1978, during a medical visit, an elderly TCM doctor introduced me to a method called “rubbing acupoints to treat rhinitis.” Following this method for nearly a year, my long-standing chronic rhinitis was almost completely cured. Since then, I have consistently practiced rubbing relevant acupoints. After many years of continuous practice, not only has my original chronic rhinitis not recurred, but I also rarely catch colds or flu.
The method I used for “rubbing acupoints to treat rhinitis” is as follows:
1. Rub the sides of the nasal bridge using the outer edges of both index fingers, back and forth, for 200 repetitions until the nose feels warm.
2. Use the fingertips of both index fingers to rub the “Yingxiang” points on both sides of the nostrils, 200 times. The “Yingxiang” point is located in the small depression lateral to the root of the nose.
3. Use the thumb and index finger of the left hand to rub the “Hegu” point on the right hand 200 times, then use the thumb and index finger of the right hand to rub the “Hegu” point on the left hand 200 times. The “Hegu” point lies in the depression between the thumb and index finger.
Special note: Persistence is essential. Even after rhinitis is cured, continue the routine. This not only prevents recurrence but also helps prevent catching colds. The rubbing technique should be firm enough to be tolerable but not painful.
