Acupoint Stimulation to Eliminate "Edema" and "Fat Obesity"

🔑 Keywords: Other · Acupuncture and Tuina
Obesity can be categorized into three types: edema, fat obesity, and solid obesity. Solid obesity is due to body constitution—typically individuals with stronger bones—and is generally easier to manage.
Among these, edema is the most difficult to reduce. People with edema often experience stiff hands upon waking, making it hard to clench fists. By evening, their feet may become swollen. This condition results from poor water metabolism. Even restricting fluid intake will not help.
Here, I recommend a simple acupoint stimulation method to promote water metabolism.
The key acupoint for enhancing water metabolism is the "Insomnia" point located at the center of the heel behind the foot sole.
People with edema usually have a softer spot here compared to others. Gently tap this area using a wooden hammer or "health hammer," spending 5–6 minutes total for both legs. You’ll notice increased urination after stimulation. Since this promotes urination, avoid doing it before bedtime. It’s best done in the late afternoon or 2–3 hours before sleep.
For those with fat obesity, stimulating the "Fenglong" point on the leg helps eliminate excess fat. As its name suggests ("Fenglong" meaning "abundantly protruding"), this is a common reactive point in people with fat obesity. Stimulating this point regulates overall fat metabolism and removes excess fat.
Use a wooden hammer or "health hammer" to gently tap the fatty area. After about 1 minute, the skin naturally turns red—a sign of improved blood circulation and active metabolism. Use this as your benchmark for proper stimulation intensity.
