Folk Remedy for Habitual Constipation
▲ Eat 2 pears first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, continue for more than two weeks; this has moistening intestinal benefits.
▲ 500 grams fresh sweet potato leaves, appropriate amount of peanut oil, add salt to taste, stir-fry until cooked and eat as a vegetable, consume once or more per day.
▲ 10 grams Citrus aurantium, one dose daily, decocted and taken orally. Can also be slightly increased and steeped in boiling water as tea.
▲ 20–30 grams Senna leaf, decocted and taken orally, one dose daily as tea substitute. Not suitable for elderly, weak individuals, or postpartum women.
▲ 500 grams winter melon pulp, decocted to yield 300 ml juice, divided and taken several times within one day to moisten intestines and relieve constipation.
▲ 15 grams raw Aconite root, 9 grams bitter green tea, 9 grams processed Radix Aconiti, 9 grams Angelica dahurica, 3 grams pepper, 10 grams garlic, all crushed and stir-fried until warm, placed in a cloth bag, applied to the navel (Shenque point), covered with a hot water bag to maintain warmth, twice daily, for treating habitual constipation in the elderly.<habitual constipation>
