2. Stomach Heat Rising Upward
【Diagnostic Criteria】Severe toothache, red swollen gums or pus-blood discharge, relieved by cold, chewing difficult; thirst, bad breath, dark urine, constipation; red tongue with yellow dry coating; stringy rapid, full rapid, or slippery rapid pulse.

3. Deficient Fire Rising Upward
【Diagnostic Criteria】Dull intermittent toothache, worse at night, gum dark red with recession, loose teeth, weak biting force; lower back and knee soreness, five-palm heat; tender red tongue with little coating, fine rapid pulse.
