1. Cold Pathogen Constriction
【Diagnostic Criteria】Sudden severe stomach pain, aggravated by cold, relieved by warmth, worsened by cold exposure, normal mouth sensation without thirst, preference for warm drinks; thin white coating, tight string-like pulse.
【Prescription】Zhongwan, Liangqiu
2. Food Stagnation
【Diagnostic Criteria】Stomach pain, epigastric distension, belching of undigested food, acid regurgitation, nausea, vomiting of undigested food, pain relieved after vomiting or passing gas, foul breath, unsatisfactory bowel movements; thick greasy coating, slippery or stringy slippery pulse.
【Prescription】Zhongwan, Tianshu
3. Liver Qi Invading the Stomach
【Diagnostic Criteria】Epigastric distension, pain radiating to the flanks or shifting location, frequent belching, often triggered or worsened by anger or depression; thin white coating, deep string-like or deep fine pulse.

4. Damp-Heat in the Middle Burner
【Diagnostic Criteria】Burning epigastric pain, worse after eating, sometimes immediate vomiting after eating, acid reflux, heartburn, dry mouth, foul breath; red tongue, especially at edges and tip, yellow greasy coating, slippery rapid pulse.

5. Stomach Yin Deficiency
【Diagnostic Criteria】Subtle epigastric pain, hunger-like discomfort without desire to eat, dry mouth and throat, hard stool; red tongue with little moisture and scant coating, fine rapid or stringy fine pulse.
【Prescription】Zhongwan, Sanyinjiao, Neiting
6. Spleen and Stomach Deficiency-Cold
【Diagnostic Criteria】Mild persistent stomach pain, prefers warmth and pressure, worse when fasting, relieved by eating, poor appetite, fatigue, vomiting clear fluid, cold intolerance, cold limbs, loose stools, even black stools; pale or enlarged tongue, white slippery coating, fine weak or slow pulse.
【Prescription】Pishu, Weishu, Zhongwan, Zusanli
Other Therapies:
Auricular Acupressure: Stomach, Spleen, Liver, Sympathetic, Shenmen
Skin Needling: Points: Back-Shu points along the Bladder Meridian from the 6th to 12th thoracic vertebrae, and the Ren Meridian and Stomach Meridian on the upper abdomen. Method: Tap sequentially from top to bottom. For acute gastritis, tap firmly until faint bleeding occurs; for chronic gastritis, use gentle tapping until skin turns red. Perform once daily or every other day.
