Daily Rubbing of the Soles for Disease Prevention and Fitness

🔑 Keywords: Other · Acupuncture and Tuina
Rubbing the soles promotes blood circulation, unblocks meridians, strengthens the body, and enhances fitness. Yongquan point lies on the sole, belonging to the Kidney Meridian of Foot Shaoyin. It is located at the depression formed when the foot is curled. Regular rubbing of Yongquan can treat symptoms such as headache, epilepsy, hernia, pediatric convulsions, and fainting. Because many pathological reflex points exist on the sole, regular rubbing provides good health benefits. To enhance effect, expand the rubbing area—rub vertically along the hollow of the sole. For example, the left foot's sole reflex points correspond to the abdominal nerve plexus, adrenal glands, kidneys, heart, spleen, stomach, and duodenum. The right foot's sole reflex points correspond to the abdominal nerve plexus, gallbladder, adrenal glands, kidneys, liver, and stomach.
Performing 1–2 sessions daily, consistently over time, can nourish the brain and kidneys, enhance intelligence, calm the mind, promote blood circulation, and unblock meridians. It helps prevent forgetfulness, insomnia, indigestion, poor appetite, bloating, constipation, and diseases of the heart, liver, spleen, and gallbladder.
Methods of rubbing the soles include:
One: Dry rubbing. Hold the left foot’s instep with the left hand, use the right hand to rub up and down the sole 100 times until the sole feels warm. Then hold the right ankle with the right hand, use the left hand to rub up and down the sole 100 times. Adjust pressure according to personal comfort.
Two: Wet rubbing. Soak feet in warm water until skin turns red, then follow method one.
Three: Alcohol rubbing. Pour about half a liang of white wine into a cup. Follow method one, dipping fingers briefly in alcohol. Reapply when alcohol dries. Perform 100 times on each sole.
