Acupuncture Treatment for Epidemic Cerebrospinal Meningitis
Defensive Qi and Nutritive Qi Affected
Selected Points: Quchi (LI11), Hegu (LI4), Dazhui (GV14), Lieque (LU7), Shaoshang (LU11), Chize (LU5).
Supplementary Points: For neck stiffness and headache, add Fengchi (GB20), Fungfu (GV16), Taiyang (EX-HN5); for nausea and vomiting, add Neiguan (PC6).

Qi and Blood (Nutritive Essence) Simultaneously Exuberant
Selected Points: Dazhui (GV14), Quchi (LI11), Quzhe (PC3), Weizhong (BL40), Twelve Jing Points.
Supplementary Points: For confusion and delirium, add RENZHONG (GV26), Yongquan (KI1), Baihui (GV20); for limb convulsions, add Yintang (EX-HN3), Fungfu (GV16), Taichong (LR3); for opisthotonus, add Shenzhu (GV12), TaoDao (GV13); for restlessness, add Laogong (PC8), Shaofu (HT8); for phlegm sounds in throat, add Fenglong (ST40).

Collapse Syndrome
Selected Points: Baihui (GV20), Qihai (CV6), Guanyuan (CV4), Neiguan (PC6), Zusanli (ST36).
Supplementary Points: For weak breathing, add Suliáo (GV25), Huiyin (CV1); for profuse sweating and cold extremities, add Zhongwan (CV12), Shenshu (GV8).
Use filiform needles with tonifying method.
Auricular Therapy
Selected Points: Shenmen, Pijixia, Xin, Nao, Erjian.
Supplementary Points: For high fever, add Shangpingjian; for limb convulsions and opisthotonus, add Zhen; for nausea and vomiting, add Benmen; for weak breathing, add Xiapinjian.
Prick Erjian for bloodletting; stimulate other points strongly, retain needles for 15–20 minutes, once or twice daily.
Moxibustion Therapy
Selected Points: Shenshu (CV8), Huiyin (CV1), Yongquan (KI1), Baihui (GV20), Guanyuan (CV4).
Moxibustion is primarily used for collapse syndrome. Use moxa cone suspended over the skin. Each session lasts 20–30 minutes, until the local skin turns slightly red and feels warm. Perform twice daily.
Dermatological Needling Therapy
Target areas: Neck and back along the Governor Vessel and Bladder Meridian. Perform heavy tapping until slight bleeding occurs. After tapping, apply flash cupping. Perform once or twice daily.
