"Finger-Needle" Therapy for Constipation
In daily clinical practice, we use finger pressure instead of needles, applying pressure to the Yingxiang point to treat constipation and difficult defecation, achieving immediate results. Here is the specific method:
According to meridian theory, the Yingxiang point belongs to the Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian. Applying finger pressure here stimulates the large intestine, promoting smooth bowel movements and facilitating easy passage of stool.
Using finger pressure on the Yingxiang point to relieve difficulty in defecation is simple and can be self-administered. Before defecation—or even during toilet use—press the Yingxiang point (located in the depression beside the nostrils) with one finger from each hand, applying appropriate pressure for 5–10 minutes until a local aching sensation is felt.
