Massage and External Application for Bone Spurs
With rising living standards and increasing population aging, age-related diseases are becoming more prevalent. Osteoarthritis (commonly known as bone spur growth) is one such condition. It primarily results from degeneration and proliferation of joint cartilage, causing localized pain. Early stages involve joint swelling and restricted movement; late stages show varying degrees of contracture and deformity.
Combining massage therapy with external application of homemade "Bone Spur Spirit Ointment" can significantly reduce pain and yield good results.
Specific Method: During each treatment, first perform local massage on the affected area for 10–20 minutes. Then apply Hai Shi Bone Spur Spirit Ointment onto gauze, about 5 mm thick (similar to a coin’s thickness), and apply directly to the painful site. For cervical pain, apply from the nape of the neck to the Dazhui point and both sides of the neck roots. Based on skin tolerance to the medication, change the dressing every 24–48 hours. One course consists of 10 treatments. This therapy helps eliminate inflammation around bone spurs and promotes resolution of blood stasis and edema.
