Bathing to Treat Minor Ailments
1. When appetite is poor, stimulate the stomach with hot water. Once the body warms up, spray lukewarm water (around 20°C) in circular motions around the chest area, spraying for 5 seconds followed by a 1-minute rest. Repeat 5–6 times. 2. For muscle pain or stiff neck, spray 40°C hot water on the painful area for about 5 minutes. Especially for prone areas like the head, shoulders, and lower back, combine spraying with gentle stretching movements—move the neck forward, backward, left, and right to promote blood circulation. 3. For people whose hands and feet are frequently cold—even in summer—alternate between hot and cold showers to dilate skin blood vessels and improve circulation. Begin with 43°C hot water to warm up thoroughly, then rinse with cold water for 10 seconds. Repeat 5 times. 4. When feeling cold after staying too long in air-conditioned rooms, shower the shoulders and lower legs with 43°C hot water. Fix the showerhead and move shoulders up and down. While rinsing feet, walk in place. 5. For lower back pain, spray 43°C hot water around the waist area, ideally combining with waist flexion and extension movements. 6. For swollen feet, start with 43°C hot water, spraying from toe tips to the top of the foot back and forth. Then rinse the same area with about 18°C cold water for approximately 10 seconds, walking in place while rinsing. Repeat 5 times. 7. For nervous constipation, spray 43°C hot water over the intestinal area for 3 minutes, then rinse with 25°C warm water for 10 seconds. Repeat 5 times to activate bowel movements. 8. For tired, heavy feet, spray 43°C hot water on the ankle and sole for 3 minutes each.
