Massage Acupoints to Prevent Cold
1. Rub the Great Fish际.
The Great Fish际 is located below the thumb, at the prominent muscle area. Use both hands to alternately rub and massage this area.
2. Press and rub the Sun Points.
The Sun Points are located about one inch behind the midpoint between the outer corner of the eye and the eyebrow tip, in a depression. Use the middle fingers of both hands to massage each Sun Point separately.
3. Push and rub both cheeks.
Use the palms to push upward along both cheeks, following a "0"-shaped motion.
4. Scrape beside the nose.
Use both thumbs to scrape from top to bottom along the sides of the nasal bridge.
5. Press and rub the Yingxiang Point.
The Yingxiang Point is located on either side of the nostrils, within the nasolabial groove, level with the midpoint of the nose. Use the index fingers of both hands to press and rub the Yingxiang Points.
6. Massage Fengchi.
The Fengchi Point is located at the sides of the back of the head, at the level of the ears, between the large tendons. Use the index and middle fingers together to massage the Fengchi Point.
Notes during massage:
1. Ensure accurate acupoint location; perform massage gently;
2. Perform once in the morning and once in the evening daily, 30–50 repetitions per session;
3. Trim fingernails and wash hands thoroughly to prevent bacterial infection.
