Three-Step Massage to Banish Cold Hands and Feet
In winter, many women and students suffer from cold hands and feet. Besides overall regulation, the following methods can help:Follow the “Three-Step” self-massage routine. First, press acupoints. Rotate pressing the following points on both arms: Shousanli (LI10), Hegu (LI4), Laogong (PC8). On legs and feet, rotate pressing Zusanli (ST36), Yongquan (KI1). Second, warm moxibustion: use moxa sticks to warm the aforementioned points. Third, knead and rub the backs of hands and toes. The third joint of the fingers is the "Shangxie" point; the second joint of the toes is the "Xiafeng" point. Kneading Shangxie and Xiafeng points yields good results. Rub Yongquan until warmth is felt, then rub the toes—especially the area with several hairs on the second joint of the big toe, known as the "Sanmao" point. Rub this area thoroughly and gently pinch 3–5 times.Additionally, rub the Xinshu (BL15) point (midway between the shoulder blades, at the intersection of the spine and the major muscles on both sides) 36 times—18 times rotating left, 18 times rotating right. Similarly, rub the Shenshu (BL23) point (the two waist dimples) 36 times—18 times left, 18 times right. Massaging these points can also help prevent rheumatism, hypertension, coughing and wheezing, and joint diseases.
