Rapid Relief from Calf Cramps

🔑 Keywords: Other · Acupuncture and Massage
Method One: Change from lying to sitting, extend the cramping leg, grip the front of the foot firmly, endure the severe pain, and rotate the ankle joint laterally. The pain stops immediately. The rotation must be continuous—complete one full circle without pause. When rotating, if it is the left leg, turn counterclockwise; if the right leg, turn clockwise. If assisted by someone, since they face you, their direction is opposite, but the ankle rotation direction remains unchanged. Key point: forcefully pull the foot outward, then bring it toward the thigh while rotating fully. Apply strong force, lifting the sole to its maximum extent.
Method Two: Press the nerve root of the gastrocnemius head. On the inner side of the knee joint (or below the popliteal fossa), there is a spot where the gastrocnemius muscle attaches. The main nerve trunk runs here. When experiencing calf cramps, use the thumb to locate the hard, prominent muscle roots on both sides of the fossa, then apply strong pressure to this area. The hyper-excited nerve will calm down, stopping the cramp and relieving severe pain.
